Request a Mobile App User's Location

If a mobile app user is having trouble clocking in or out while at a client's location, verify and update their location.

Quick Notes

  • This feature should be used to view an employee's location, and update it if the employee is encountering an "out of range" message when clocking in/out within the specified range of client's location (learn about geo tracking here
  • Location sharing is done through our mobile apps — Billiyo Caregiver or Billiyo Clinical.
  • During the location request process, if the client has an alternate address, the ability to select it will be available. 
  • Before taking the steps within this article, please call the client to confirm that the employee is with them in their home to ensure their location is properly verified and updated.

 

Requesting a Mobile App User's Location

When an employee sees an "out of range" message preventing them from clocking in/out, even though they are within the specified range of the client's location, the location request feature within the View Client Caregiver page 


To access the request location feature, in the menu navigate to:

CRM > Client Caregiver > View Client Caregiver


Within this page, click on the "Request Location" tab in the upper right corner.


In the "Request Location" tab, select the name of the client that the employee is currently with and fill out the additional fields that appear.

After selections have been made in all fields that appear, click on the "Request Location" button to send the location request to the employee.

Once the location request has been sent, the employee will receive a notification to share their location and the screen that the request was made from will change to a fetching location message.


This screen should be kept open as the employee completes the steps to share their location.

 

How a Mobile App User Shares Their Location

Billiyo Caregiver and Billiyo Clinical mobile app users can receive location requests. 

Once location has been requested, the chosen employee receives an in-app notification.


This notification is also visible within the "Notifications" section, found by going to:

More > Notifications


Touching on the notification triggers a location share confirmation pop-up to launch.

The client will need to sign within the "Patient Signature" field at the bottom to verify they are with the employee. After the signature is captured, the employee completes the location share by touching on the "Share" button. 


If the submission is successful, the employee will see a success message that can be closed by touching on "OK".

 

Verifying and Completing a Location Request

Once the employee has shared their location, within the "Request Location" tab of the View Client Caregiver page, click on the "Fetch Distance" button.


The screen should refresh and display the employee's location, client's location and the distance between them. 


After reviewing, click on the "Update Client Location" button.


On the pop-up that appears, click on the "Update" button to save the employee's precise location. 


If successful, a success confirmation message will appear. Click on the "Okay" button to close it.


Once the employee's precise location has been updated, as long as they are within the specified range set for geo tracking, they should then be able to clock in/out of a scheduled visit.
