- Text messaging is only available if your agency signed up for a Billiyo communications package.
- Only 8 mass text messages can be sent per month.
- Text and email messages are not HIPAA compliant. If you are looking for a HIPAA compliant solution for communicating with employees, check out our in-app messaging feature.
Send a Mass Communication
To send a mass communication, in the left menu navigate to:
Operation > Communications > Mass Communications

Entering this page, you'll be taken to the Direct Communication tab, where you can create a new:
Text Message
Within the Message Type field in the Mass Communications page, chose Text Message to start composing your new mass text message.

Use the Filter By field to narrow down what employees you'd like to send your text message to.

Additional filter fields may appear based on the selection you chose within the Filter By field.
After filling out the filter criteria, click on the button to display the employees that fit the criteria you've selected.
Then, check the checkbox next to the employees that this message should be sent to. If you'd like to send it to everyone who met the criteria you've filtered for, click the checkbox at the top.

After selecting who the message is going to be sent to, it's time to compose your message within the text field that appears on the left side of the screen.

Once you're ready, click on the button to send it off.
After your message is sent, you'll see the counter below the button update to reflect the number of mass text messages you have remaining for the month.

Only 8 mass text messages can be sent per month.
Within the Message Type field in the Mass Communications page, chose Email to start composing your new mass message.

Use the Send Email To field to designate who the email should be sent to.

Mass email messages can be sent to 4 different categories.
Employee | All employees or a subset of employees. |
Employee Contacts |
A specific employee contact type. |
Client | All clients |
Client Contacts | A specific client contact type. |
If you select Employee, Employee Contacts or Client Contacts within the Send Email To field, additional filter fields will be displayed based on your selection.
Once you've filled out the filter criteria in the top row of fields, click on the

Then, check the checkbox next to those that this message should be sent to. If you'd like to send to everyone who met the criteria you've filtered for, click the checkbox at the top.

Once the recipients have been set, it's time to enter a subject line for your email, compose your message and include any attachments you need to send.

When you're ready to send, click on the button.
Review Message and Communication History
Once messages have been sent, they can be reviewed within the History and Communication Thread tabs within the Mass Communications page.

Within both of these tabs, communications will be displayed as a line item.
History |
Communications are broken down by message type. Each line will display a Total Message Count which indicates how many people a mass communication was sent to. |
Communication | Communications are broken down by employee. |
