Quick Notes

This article discusses the new in-app messaging experience that is currently being rolled out. 

  • In-app messaging is HIPAA compliant.
  • With in-app messaging feature in Billiyo you can message an individual employee, create a group chat with multiple employees and send a message to all employees within your agency at once.

Web Portal

To access the in-app messaging feature on the web portal, in the left menu navigate to:

Operation > Chat


Within this page you'll be able to:

Create and Send New Messages

To create a new message you can either click on the  button and New Conversation or the button.

 


On the pop-up that appears, under the Conversation Type heading, select the type of message you'd like to create: 

Individual
Send a message to a single employee

Group
Create a group chat with multiple employees

A maximum of 300 people can be in a group chat.

Mass
Send a message to all employees


For the Individual and Group conversation types, upon clicking the
  button you'll be taken to a messaging screen where you can:

Type a message

Once you've typed your message, click on the    button to send.

Send a document

Send a photo

Maximum file size: 5 MB

Send a video

Maximum file size: 5 MB

Send an audio recording

Maximum file size: 5 MB

 

Review message history

Once conversations have been created, they'll appear in a list view on the left side of the screen.


To read through a conversation, simply click on it. Doing so will open the conversation on the right side of the screen.

 

Take Action on Messages

As you're reviewing a conversation, you can respond and share content just as you did when creating the conversation.

For messages that you've sent and received, you can also: 

Reply
Create a thread on a specific message

Only available on typed text messages.

Edit
Correct an error in a message

Only available on typed text messages you've sent.

Forward
Share the message to another one of your chats

Delete
Remove the message if it was sent in error

Only available on messages you've sent.

 


Billiyo Caregiver App

Within the Billiyo Caregiver app, in-app messaging can be accessed in 2 locations:

Dashboard → Message More → Message


Within the message screen, caregivers can: 

Create and Send New Messages

Within the message screen, caregivers can create new messages by touching on the  button that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Upon doing so, they'll be presented with the option to create a group message with multiple employees in it or an individual message to a single person.


If group message is chosen:

Select a group image

Touch on the image icon to choose an image that's already been taken with the device or take a new photo.

Enter a group name

Select who is in the group

Touch the checkbox next to each person who should be in the group.


Once the recipient(s) have been chosen, touching on the    button will allow the caregiver to compose their message.

Add an attachment 

Maximum file size: 5 MB

Type a message

Record a voice message

The user must have their microphone enabled for the Billiyo Caregiver app within their device settings for this.

 

View and Respond to Messages

When entering the message screen within the Billiyo Caregiver app, a list of all conversations will appear.


Any conversations that have a number indicator on them mean that there are unread messages. 


To review a conversion and respond to any messages, touch on the conversation line.

Outside of the basic functions that were available when creating a new message, the caregiver will also be able to:

Copy message text

Press and hold on the message to access the copy  function.

Download

For images and documents only, used to see the attachment.

 


Billiyo Clinical App

Within the Billiyo Clinical app, in-app messaging can be accessed by going to:

More > Message


Within the
message screen, employees can: 

Create and Send New Messages

Within the message screen, employees can create new messages by touching on the  button that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.


Upon doing so, they'll be presented with the option to create a group message with multiple employees in it or an individual message to a single person.


If group message is chosen:

Select a group image

Touch on the image icon to choose an image that's already been taken with the device or take a new photo.

Share the message to another one of your chats

Copy message text

Edit
Correct an error in a message

Only available on typed text messages you've sent.

Delete


For images and documents in conversations, employees will also see an option to download to be able to view the attachment.

 
Once the attachment is downloaded, press and hold on it to reply, forward, copy and delete.
