When a user account is setup, a user role is assigned. This article goes over the basic user roles we offer and the options for customization that are available.

Basic Roles
When creating a user account, a user role is selected. The user role that is selected determines what type of access a person has.
Here are the main user roles, their default access and who they'd be applicable to:

Page Access Customization
While each user role has its own preset pages it can access, you can customize what pages you would like a user role or username to have access to (or not have access to).
To customize what pages a user role or username has access to, navigate to:
More > Company > Menu Settings
If you do not see this page, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager so they can enable it for you.
Starting at the top of this page, select whether you'd like to change the page access settings for a user role or specific username.
Note: The names of employees with the roles of Caregiver or Caregiver Enhanced only assigned to them should not appear to select when choosing By User.

The next field that appears is Landing Page. This allows you to customize what page you'd like the specific username or user role to see when they first log into their Billiyo account.
Below the Landing Page field, categories will appear. These categories are where you can choose what pages the specific username or user role has access to.
Click on a category to display the pages within it, and check or uncheck the checkbox next to each page based on your preferences.
If the checkbox by a page name is checked, the user/user role will have access.
If the checkbox by a page name is unchecked, the user/user role will not have access.
After making changes, click on the Update button in the top right corner of the screen to save.
✋ To reset all settings, click on the Reset Default Settings button. Please keep in mind this will reset for all, By Role or By User based on your selection, so use with caution!
Field Access Customization
Using the field access settings, you can further refine what a user role or specific username can see. In addition to this, you can also decide if a specific field is required or only numbers can be input into it.
To access the field access settings page, navigate to:
More > Company > Field Settings
If you do not see this page, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager so they can enable it for you.
Starting at the top of this page, select whether you'd like to change the field access settings for a user role or specific username.
Note: The names of employees with the roles of Caregiver or Caregiver Enhanced only assigned to them should not appear to select when choosing By User.

After selecting a user role or specific username, use the Pages field below to select between the following categories:
Employee Profile | This option displays the fields and sections (tabs) within employee profiles. |
Client Profile | This option displays the fields and sections (tabs) within client profiles. |
Caregiver Dashboard | This option allows you to change permissions for adding schedules via the Caregiver Dashboard page on the web (billiyo.com) that a caregiver may use. |
Each category will have its own set of fields and sections (tabs) that you can choose from the following viewing options:
[Permission] Read/Write | The user role or specific user can see the information and edit it. |
[Permission] Hide | The user role or specific user cannot see this information. |
[Permission] Read Only | The user role or specific user can see this information, but they cannot edit it. |
Some fields will also have the following options:
[Validations] Required | Information must be input into this field to save. |
[Validations] Number Only | Only number can be entered into this field. |
Note: Some fields requirements are not able to be removed, regardless of what is chosen in this page, as the information is needed for billing purposes.
After making changes, click on the Update button in the top right corner of the screen to save.
