What is Happening?

When editing a caregiver connection, you may notice that the changes you are making are not affecting the visits that were worked. This may be happening because the visits you are working have a procedure - code specific caregiver connection.

In Billiyo there are two types of caregiver connection:

  • Procedure Code Connections - These are caregiver connection settings that apply only to a single procedure code and modifier.
  • Overarching Connection - This is the caregiver connection that applies to all visits unless there is a procedure code connection.

We can see the overarching and procedure code connections from the View Client Caregiver page.

For example, an overarching connection may require Geo-tracking but, the client and caregiver have a Procedure Code connection for s5135 visits and this connection does not require geo tracking.

In that situation, the s5135 visits that the connected employee works will not require Geo-tracking, but ALL other visits (unless there is another procedure code connection) will require Geo-tracking.

To add a new procedure code connection, please use the blue plus sign.

You can create as many procedure code connections as you want.

Edit Connections

Overarching Connection:

To edit the overarching connection, we will use the "Edit Caregiver" button at the bottom of a connection.

Editing an overarching connection however will NOT change the procedure code connections so, in the example above, if we changed the over-arching connection the s5135 visit would be unchanged.

Procedure Code Connection:

In order to edit a procedure code code connection, we will need to click on the blue sign.

This will open a pop-up where we can alter the procedure code's connection.

To remove a procedure code connection, you can use the red trashcan icon on the right side of the page.

Your employees will still be able to work visits with that procedure code, but their settings will be pulled from the overarching connection.
