Learn how to void, or "take back", a claim within the "Claim Detail Report" page!

Quick Notes
- In order to void a claim, the claim number the payer assigned to it ("Payer Claim Number") is needed.
- If Billiyo is not receiving your ERA, you will need to manually enter the claim number the payer assigned to a claim manually.
- The term "take back" is often used to describe voiding.
How to Access the "Claim Detail Report" Page
The "Claim Detail Report" page can be accessed by clicking here or navigating to:
Billing > Claim Detail Report
How to Manually Enter a "Payer Claim Number"
What is a payer claim number? A payer claim number is a number assigned to a claim by the payer.
How do I find a payer claim number? Since this is assigned by the payer, it is found within the payer's system. Billiyo/Billiyo staff cannot see or provide you with this information.
To manually enter a "Payer Claim Number", locate the claim within the table in the "All Claims" tab and click on the to the left of it.
Then, with the claim details expanded, locate and click on the button.

On the pop-up that appears, locate the "Payer Claim Number" field and click on the to the right of it.

Enter the payer assigned claim number within the field and then click on the to save it.

Once the "Payer Claim Number" has been saved, the claim can be voided.
How to Void a Claim
To void a claim, locate the claim within the table in the "All Claims" tab and check the checkbox to the left of it.
Multiple claims can be checked and voided at that same time.
Next, click on the button.

If you are met with a warning message stating the "Payer Claim Number" is not present, follow the steps here to enter this information.
A confirmation pop-up should appear, click on the button to proceed with voiding.

At this point, the page should refresh and the claim(s) that were voided no longer appear within the table results of the "All Claims" tab.
Viewing Voided Claims
Once a claim has been voided, it can be found within the "Voided Claims" tab of the "Claim Detail Report" page.

The following actions can be taken for claims within this tab when clicking the to the left of a claim line:
- Update the claim status, payer claim number or notes by clicking on the
button.
- Update the payer information if it's changed by clicking on the
button.
- View claim and payment history by clicking on the
button.
- Archive the claim by clicking on the
button. Once a claim is archived, select "Archived Claims" in the"Report Type" filter at the top of the page to view it.
- Rebill the claim by clicking on the
button.
